Stephen L Bires passed away on Thursday Jan. 19, 2017.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1923 in West Aliquippa, Pennsylvania to George and Anna Bires.
Stephen served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre.
He met his future bride, Eleanor Eakin at LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in June of 1943. They married Sept. 3, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania while he was attending Villanova University.
They had two sons; Stephen L. Jr., and Robert Mark Bires.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son; Robert Mark Bires, and brother George “Jeep” Bires.
He is survived by his loving wife; Eleanor; son Stephen L., Jr. “Larry” and wife Soontharee of Corpus Christi; brother, James and wife Joyce of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Sister Georgine Bires of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and sister Elizabeth A. Bires of Cleveland, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
