FBCS teacher Kasey Smith distributed copies of her prayer journal, The 30 Day Gift, to students to pray for wisdom and courage for political and military leaders in Washington D.C. The school will send the completed journals to the White House on Dec. 18.

The Marble Falls football team honored the number one Mustang fan, Bro. Max Copeland, at the Friday Oct. 18 game versus Bastrop by wearing red socks in honor of the late pastor. The Mustangs are undefeated on Max Copeland Night. The Marble Falls Community Fireworks Celebration starts with food and beverage vendors opening booths at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at First Baptist Church, 901 La Ventana Drive. Live music starts at 5:30 p.m. and fireworks are at 9:15 p.m. or dusk.

The community has covered the squad car of the late Marble Falls Police Officer Andrew Howe with gifts, flowers and balloons to show their support after his death April 26 in a motorcycle crash. Funeral services for Howe are Thursday, May 2 at First Baptist Church of Marble Falls.

First Baptist Church first met in Johnson Park in 1888. Their first church building burned in 1961and 12th Street became its home until the new building in LaVentana was occupied. City council action Nov. 1 will allow a new recreation center incarnation for the building.

Built in 1904, the former and believed first parsonage for First Baptist Church of Marble Falls, is passing its final days at 911 7th Street. The city council on Tuesday, april 5, approved a variance of city rules against moving structures more than five years old to allow the new owner, Randy Rudman, to move the historic building to 604 Avenue F. It now will occupy the same street as the former parsonage of the late Rev. Max Copeland and his wife Glenna, 902 Avenue F.
