Marble Falls school bond project architects provided updates on pending construction around the district to the Board of Trustees, including courtyard upgrades, fine arts building renovations and additional locker rooms at Max Copeland Gym.
Jason Scott, associate principal at Huckabee, Inc., presented updated schematics and costs to the board on Monday, July 15 concerning the additions and renovations at Marble Falls High School.
With the updated schematics, the projected cost has also risen. The district budgeted approximately $22.1 million for the additions; Huckabee has moved into the design development (DD) stage and the cost has gone up to approximately $22.09 million.
“We're pretty pleased, even at the DD budget phase, that we're a little below budget,” MFISD Superintent Chris Allen said. “We're sitting in good shape, budget-wise. We're monitoring that closely.”
The three main areas of construction at MFHS are the main entrance and administration area, the design overhaul of the commons area and the fine arts wing. Locker rooms will also be added to Max Copeland Gym. . . .
