Marble Falls hits record for sales tax

Sales tax revenue for the city of Marble Falls hit an all-time single-month high as the city received an $838,756.75 allocation from the state of Texas.

According to the Marble Falls Economic Development Corporation, more than $35 million in new taxable sales have been added in the last 12 months — an unprecedented period of growth.

It was a strong month overall for all of Burnet County as all six reporting municipalities saw sales tax growth ranging from 4.92 to 25 percent above the same month last year. Sales tax revenues remain robust for the year, with all six reporting an increase in revenue of more than 4.9 percent above last year and a combined increase overall of $1,033,505.39, or 10.5 percent. . . .
