Marble Falls High tiny home construction no small task

Construction and welding teacher Shawn Reed and his students put a year and a half into the construction of a tiny home. Marble Falls ISD has put the home on the market, and all proceeds from the sale go back into the CTE program.

Marble Falls High School Career and Technology Education program is making their presence known in the tiny home market after the latest completion of a major project.

“There were challenges along the way,” construction and welding teacher Shawn Reed said. “It's like building a house, but it's not. Everything is so small, but you're building it like a house. All the corners and transitions are trickier.”

Marble Falls extends hike and bike trail

A new sidewalk began to take shape July 25 in the south end of Johnson Park in Marble Falls. The work is adjacent to a new restroom facility at the venue. When completed, the sidewalk will farther extend the hiking and biking trail system which connects to Westside Park.

The Marble Falls Rodeo returns this weekend July 19 and 20 at Charley Taylor Arena, just south of Marble Falls on US 281.

This year's rodeo – the 63rd iteration of the annual event – will feature several competitions, including the return of the rodeo queen.

The Marble Falls Community Fireworks Celebration starts with food and beverage vendors opening booths at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at First Baptist Church, 901 La Ventana Drive. Live music starts at 5:30 p.m. and fireworks are at 9:15 p.m. or dusk.
