Sales tax revenue for the city of Marble Falls continued to climb in October as all six taxing municipalities in Burnet County reported growth compared to last year, with four cities (Marble Falls, Burnet, Granite Shoals and Bertram) reporting double digit percentage gains.

Early voting for the Nov. 5 constitutional amendment election in both Burnet and Llano counties begins Monday, Oct. 21, and continues through Friday, Nov. 1.

A local prosecutor has received a top award for his work in high-profile investigations involving Texas Parks and Wildlife.

The state entity recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee by naming him winner of the 2019 TPWD Prosecutor of the Year Award, “for his work prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations and environmental crimes in the state.”

McAfee is the district attorney for the 33rd/424th Judicial District which encompass Blanco, Burnet, Llano and San Saba Counties.

Two contractors for a Pedernales Electric Cooperative transmission line project died following an accident involving a transmission pole June 1 in Burnet County.

According to the Burnet County Sheriff's Office, the mid-afternoon incident occurred at a job site, south of Horseshoe Bay on Texas 71, near the Burnet County line.
