Despite dining area closures, several Marble Falls area business have resolved to re-organize their operations, promote takeout service and alternative hours while keeping a smaller staff of personnel to try to weather the potential economic disaster prompted by the COVID-19 crisis.

The Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance (HSBBA) held its Aug. 27 Community Coffee at Arrowhead Bank in Horseshoe Bay, attracting another large gathering of business leaders and residents.

Bittersweet Cakes and Catering provided the morning treats, which included an assortment of mini muffins and a delicious egg, sausage and cheese casserole that really tempted guests to have second helpings.

For the 10th year, there's no place like Horseshoe Bay and Ranch to Market Road 2147 for the Holidaze.
The Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance will hold their annual Holidaze event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in front of the businesses at 7407 Farm to Market Road 2147, Horseshoe Bay.
Business members set up tables filled with treats, refreshments and samples and many also provide door prizes and giveaways. The free event is a way for the Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance to give back to the residents who support the city's businesses. It was held for the first time in 2008.
More than 30 businesses are expected to participate this eyar, making it the largest Holidaze event ever in Horseshoe Bay, said Francie Dix of the Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance, and more than 200 people are expected to attend.

Horseshoe Bay is looking for someone to honor as its 2017 Citizen of the Year.

The Horsehose Bay Business Alliance, along with the Horseshoe Bay City Council, is now accepting nominations for Citizen of the Year through Aug. 31.

All citizens of Horseshoe Bay are eligible to submit nominations to receive the award. The Citizen of the Year may be an individual or couple and will be chose from the following criteria:

* Civic, community or church involvement: 50 percent of the criteria considered.

* Accomplishments and contributions to the economic growth and quality of life in Horseshoe Bay: 30 percent of the criteria considered.

* Additional outstanding characteristics the nominee has: 20 percent of criteria considered.

Nominees must demonstrate leadership, valor or exemplary service in thecommunity, go above and beyond normal community involvement and volunteerism, and their philanthropic efforts will also be considered.

The Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance (HSBBA) and Horseshoe Bay Property Owners’ Association (HSB POA) are teaming up on the first Earth Day Expo in the city. The deadline is Friday, April 1, for businesses to show their interest in conservation by registering for a free table at the event.

The Earth Day Expo, which is free and open to the public, will be Friday, April 22 at HSB POA headquarters at Quail Point (107 Twilight, Horseshoe Bay), from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
