Marble Falls Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Allie Hampton as Falls Career High School principal at the regular board meeting on Monday, June 17.

During the Marble Falls Independent School District’s board meeting May 21, the trustees approved superintendent Dr. Chris Allen’s recommendation to name Yarda Leflet as the new Principal for Falls Career High School.

A principal hiring committee, comprised of Falls Staff and MFISD administrators, included representation from curriculum and instruction and special services helped sort and interview finalists for the Falls principal position.

The top candidates were forwarded to the superintendent for further interviews and recommendation to the MFISD board.

Leftlet has served Hays CISD as the executive director of learning and teaching since 2010.

Prior to that, she served Hays as the acting chief academic officer, director of secondary services, academic dean, and as an English teacher.

Falls Career graduation tonight, MFHS graduation Saturday night

Falls Career High School will holds its graduation ceremony tonight, Friday, May 26, at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church,901 La Ventana Drive, Marble Falls.
Marble Falls High School commencement for the class of 2017 is scheduled, rain or shine, for Saturday, May 27, at 7:30 p.m.
To make the event accessible to as many Mustang fans as possible, attendees are invited to sit in both the visitor and home stands in Mustang Stadium.
“With attendance to the commencement ceremony out-growing available home side only seating, the graduation stage this year will be located on the north end of the football
field facing toward the field house,” said assistant superintendent of operations Jeff Gasaway.
“This stage alignment will allow attendees in both the home and visitors’ stands to see the festivities and their graduates as they cross the stage.”

Falls Career High School held a graduation ceremony for the 25 members of its Class of 2016 on Friday night, May 27, at Marble Falls First Baptist Church.

Ten graduates earned scholarships to continue their education.

Six of those were $1,000 Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary Scholarships and four of them will be used by students headed for Central Texas College (CTC) in the fall. They are Alexia Burrage-Difilicia and Devon Jackson, studying culinary arts; Donald Ervi, with sights set on becoming a writer, and Sara Rutland, to become a teacher.
