Texas Parks and Wildlife investigators are waiting for the autopsy results of a woman found unresponsive July 11 on Lake LBJ in Kingsland. Authorities believe the death may be related to a jet ski accident, according to a press release.

Tour boat stranded as storms sweep into Highland Lakes

About 75 people were temporarily stranded June 9 when the Vanishing Texas River Cruise touring vessel took on water and made its way to Shaw Island on its route in Lake Buchanan as storm-like conditions swept into the area.

Nearly 75 passengers on a river boat cruise on Lake Buchanan experienced some tense moments as a brief but severe thunderstorm swept into the Highland Lakes June 9 and stranded the tourists on a remote peninsula on the waterway.

TXDoT is hosting a ceremonial grand opening of the RM 2900 Bridge at 2 p.m. May 24 in Kingsland. The structure, which was washed away during the October flood, will soon be open to vehicle traffic following a fast-tracked schedule for completion.

As crews poured the final concrete slab section May 15, officials announced the new Kingsland RM 2900 Bridge will meet a deadline for completion to accommodate an upcoming public grand opening ceremony for the structure, officials said.
