One year after a historic flood event devastated the Highland Lakes area, the community has not forgotten what happened that fateful day — Oct. 16, 2018.
Early voting for the Nov. 5 constitutional amendment election in both Burnet and Llano counties begins Monday, Oct. 21, and continues through Friday, Nov. 1.
Llano County commissioners Monday, Aug. 12, tentatively approved a proposed fiscal year 2020 budget and tax rate while sending an applicant for a tiny home project back for more work and continuing a county-wide burn ban.

Texas Parks and Wildlife investigators are waiting for the autopsy results of a woman found unresponsive July 11 on Lake LBJ in Kingsland. Authorities believe the death may be related to a jet ski accident, according to a press release.
A Buchanan Dam man will face manslaughter and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury charges, following a collision that killed a man and injured his family member, according to Llano County documents.

Nearly 75 passengers on a river boat cruise on Lake Buchanan experienced some tense moments as a brief but severe thunderstorm swept into the Highland Lakes June 9 and stranded the tourists on a remote peninsula on the waterway.

Several hundred residents, officials and dignitaries showed their support for the expedited completion of the Kingsland Ranch-to-Market 2900 Bridge during a ceremony May 24 which featured live music, ceremonial walks across the span and presentations.

TXDoT is hosting a ceremonial grand opening of the RM 2900 Bridge at 2 p.m. May 24 in Kingsland. The structure, which was washed away during the October flood, will soon be open to vehicle traffic following a fast-tracked schedule for completion.

Llano County Judge Ron Cunningham knows a thing or two about bureaucratic red tape.
As crews poured the final concrete slab section May 15, officials announced the new Kingsland RM 2900 Bridge will meet a deadline for completion to accommodate an upcoming public grand opening ceremony for the structure, officials said.
