One year after a historic flood event devastated the Highland Lakes area, the community has not forgotten what happened that fateful day — Oct. 16, 2018.
“It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year already since the flood,” Burnet County Judge James Oakley said.
“This was the worst flood the county has experienced in decades, but we are proud of and grateful for the first responders from inside and outside the county, the support of local communities and for the many individuals who came to help,” Llano County Precinct 1 Commissioner Peter Jones added. . . .
