H-E-B partners (employees) in Marble Falls served up a homemade lunch for the firefighters and emergency medical personnel at the Marble Falls fire station on Friday, Sept. 8, as part of H-E-B’s company-wide Helping Heroes program.

The spring benefit at the Blue Bonnet Cafe for the Marble Falls Area Emergency Medical Service (MFAEMS) is set for Wednesday, March 1, from 4-8 p.m..

Owners of the historic dining spot at 211 US 281 in Marble Falls dedicate the proceeds to the first responder organization.

“It amounts to about $14,000 a year that supports most of our training,” said Johnny Campbell, MFAEMS executive director. “Our staff and city officials pitch in to help witih the serving, but it's folks who have pitched in to dine for the last 25 years who share our thanks.

Plates of fried fish and sides are $10 and $4 for children age 5 and younger. For take out orders, call 830-693-2444.

Emergency lights filled downtown Marble Falls Saturday night when back-to-back calls were answered on Main Street.

Attempts to revive James Fred Graham Jr. were unsuccessful at Uptown Theatre despite immediate response on the scene, while the victim of a fall down stairs adjoining the R Bar and Grill is still hospitalized in Austin.

Another child car seat inspection event of has been scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10, by the Marble Falls Area Emergency Medical Service (MFAEMS).

The MFAEMS is scheduling appointments between 1-3:30 p.m. for car seat inspection and fitting. The inspections will take place at the MFAEMS main station, 609 Industrial Boulevard, in Marble Falls.

The number to call is 830-693-7277. The service is free and the MFAEMS can help provide a seat for families that cannot afford one.

The child to be fitted must be present at the appointment. Every child younger than age eight and shorter than four-feet-nine-inches tall travel in a federally approved child car seat. Fines from $25 for the first offense up to $250 for subsequent offenses are little compared to the heartache of injury or death of a child.

A Georgetown teen escaped serious injury Monday night, June 20, when his car landed in standing water in a ravine off Ranch to Market Road 1431 east of Marble Falls.

Marble Falls Area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will be able to purchase new CPR equipment thanks to a $22,256 community development grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) and Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC).
Marble Falls Area EMS will acquire a LUCAS Chest Compression System and a Zoll portable ventilator, some of the most advanced equipment in the field of emergency medicine for cardiac arrest victims. When paired with defibrillators, medication and highly trained medics, the organization will be able to offer the best in CPR care, said Marble Falls Area EMS Operations Director Kevin Naumann­­.
