Juanita May Eaton

Oct. 14, 1924 ~ Nov. 4, 2016

Juanita May Eaton, 92 of Round Rock, Texas, died Nov. 4, 2016 at an assisted living facility. She was born Oct.14, 1924 in Florence the daughter of Albert Heald and Myrtle (Bowman) Heald. Juanita grew up in Florence and later married Edward King Eaton in 1945. They lived in Brady, Lampasas and Lometa for many years. Juanita was a homemaker and took care of Ed for many years, due to his health.

Survivors include David King Eaton of Round Rock, Thomas Eaton and wife Laura of Marble Falls, two grandchildren, Christie and Tonya; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Eaton was preceded in death by her husband and by one brother and two sisters.

Viewing will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. until noon at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Florence Cemetery.

Family requests memorials be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.

Kenneth George Holden passed away Nov. 9, 2016, in Burnet, Texas. He was born April 30, 1937, in Bertram, Texas, to Sam and Hettie Holden.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, brother Sam Holden Jr., sister Betty McGuffey and great-grandson Micah Underwood.

He is survived by his wife, Manda Holden, children Terry Holden (Gina), Cathy Stephens (Glen), Sherry Traugott (Ron), Dianne Michel (Doug), and Lori Mayfield (Anthony). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Clements Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Marble Falls.

Betty Jo Caldwell Feist

Betty Jo Caldwell Feist, born Jan. 21, 1936, in Pontiac, Michigan to Charlton and Olive Caldwell, died in her sleep on Oct. 30, 2016, in Marble Falls.

Betty Jo, or BJ, loved to laugh and she loved country music. She lived many years in Bakersfield, California during the creation of the Bakersfield sound listening to music of Merle Haggard and Buck Owens as they were first writing the music and shaping the sound that would greatly influence American music. The last songs she requested that her son-in-law, john Arthur martinez play for her on her deathbed were “Silver Wings” and “Swinging Doors” by Haggard.

She was preceded in death by husband Bobbie Drew Feist, and siblings, May Caldwell and Robert Caldwell.

Theodore Gorman (Ted) Ryan

Nov. 27, 1961 ~ Nov. 10, 2016

Theodore Gorman (Ted) Ryan, 54, of Lampasas, Texas, died suddenly Nov. 10, 2016, at Rollins-Brook Community Hospital. Ted was born Nov. 27, 1961, in Lampasas, the son of Jerry Lee Ryan and Julia (Gorman) Ryan. He worked in the construction business for many years. Ted loved to hunt, fish, barbeque and beer. He was Catholic.

Survivors include his mother, Julia Ryan; daughter, Crystal Dawn Posey and husband Sam; stepsons, Ervin Williams III and Earnest D. Williams; brothers, Kevin Martinez and wife, Sheila, and Creighton Ryan and wife Jenny; sisters; Ginger York and husband Tom, and Arlene Moon and husband James; grandchildren, Clayton Posey, Caleb Hinton, Chloe Hinton and Courtney Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date following cremation.

Sneed Funeral Chapel of Lampasas is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey Thomas Braden

Capt. Jeffrey Thomas Braden, 28, stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickham, formerly of Marble Falls, Texas, went to be with Lord on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016.

Jeff was born in San Antonio, Texas to Tom and Laura Braden on June 16, 1988.

Jeff grew up in Belton and Waco, Texas where he graduated from Reicher Catholic High School in 2007.

He was coached by his dad in football, basketball and baseball and was named All State Football player.

He received two Senatorial nominations to the United States Air Force Academy where he also played football and was on the Rodeo Team.

He graduated in 2011 with a degree in Business Management earning a pilot slot and began his fighter pilot training.

In all of his training courses, he earned Distinguished Graduate.

Tom A. Simmons, known to many as "toad" of Marble Falls, Texas passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016.

He was born In San Angelo Texas on July 15, 1966 to Janice (Green) Biddy and Tom A. Simmons. 

Tom Graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1984 and later received his associate degree in mechanics at Brookhaven college.

Tom worked for Housley Construction for many years until his declining health in 2015.

Tom will always be known to his friends and family for his big heart and ability to debate with anyone on any subject right or wrong.

He was preceded in death by his mother Janice Biddy.

MLE Mason, also known as “Mert” born Esther M. Leslie Nov. 30, 1922 to Jeff and Esther Leslie in Sherman, Texas, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2016.

Her passions were gardening, knitting, crocheting, scuba diving, driving an 18-wheeler across the country for Mayflower Moving Vans, hot chocolate, her cats and dogs and crossword puzzles.

Proceeded in death by her parents, older sister and brother, second husband, sister-in-law, two grandsons, two sons-in-law and a niece.

She is survived by her first husband, Vic Merth, four children Judy and husband Jack Davies, Jennifer Hickman, Jon and LeAnn Merth and Joy and husband George Britton; six grandchildren, three nieces, two nephews, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Lewis “Bob” Kelly

Robert Lewis “Bob” Kelly was born May 7, 1921, in Kansas City Missouri and went to be with the Lord October 28, 2016. He was 95 years of age.

Bob was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors where he and his sons would hunt pheasant together for many years. Bob and his wife loved to go dancing and travel where they went many places.

During WWII Mr. Robert Kelly served six years in the Navy as a Chief on a minesweeper. During his time in the Navy he was a boxer which he enjoyed. After the Navy he started to work for Southwestern Bell, known now as AT&T. He was an exchange repairman and would work on the telephones in people’s homes as well. Bob retired in 1982. At one time Mr. Kelly had a shrimp boat and after about a year decided he didn’t care for shrimping very much.

Ernest Lloyd Kinsey

Ernest Lloyd Kinsey was born October 11, 1936 in Junction, Texas to James Elisha Kinsey and Sophie Hulda Dannheim. He passed away at home with family and friends around him on October 24, 2016, in Kingsland, Texas. He was married to Elsie Lee Harris-Kinsey on December 12, 1956 in Austin, Texas. From that union came five children.

His parents and four brothers preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elsie, of Kingsland, Texas, his sons Timothy and wife Ruby of Austin, Matthew and wife Cherrie of Kyle, Texas, Dougles and wife Gigi of Georgetown, Texas and his daughters Dollie Bauman and husband Jay of Horseshoe Bay, Texas and Tracy Millagan and husband David of Kingsland, Texas, 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren with one due in February.

Services will be held November 5, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1607 Mormon Mill Rd., Marble Falls, Texas.

Kenneth Dee Hunter

Kenneth Dee Hunter was born September 19, 1926 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to James Alton and Reta Mae (Shuler) Hunter, Sr. He was raised in Johnson County Texas and East Dallas, Texas.

Kenneth went to work at North American Aviation on January 31, 1944 until WWII ended, and then for General Electric Co. on September 4, 1945. While there, he met Vera Lee Milliken and they married January 12, 1946. He had a 42 year career with General Electric Co. as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, until his retirement in July of 1987.
