Sue S. Stubbs

March 4, 1951 ~ Sept. 24, 2016

Sue S. Stubbs, age 65, passed away at her home in Horseshoe Bay, Texas on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 surrounded by her family and close friends.

Sue left the life she cherished after a 4 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer that she so fiercely and courageously fought.

She was born a twin on March 4, 1951 in Plymouth, Indiana to William (Bill) and Mary Belle (Haab)Shemberger.

After graduating from high school, Sue attended Indiana University and earned her Business degree in 1973.

An interviewer on a “career day” remarked to her that she was a great fit for a career in sales and just like everything she pursued, Sue launched full steam into her sales career.

She was the first female rep hired at Alcoa, worked for Yellow Pages selling advertising, and enjoyed over 20 years at Thomson Reuters where she grew from entry level sales to become Vice President of Sales for the Legal Division.

Dortha Jean Feaster Coalter, 75, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, in her home in Killeen.

She was born Sept. 12, 1940, the daughter of Ferdinand L. and Leo (Whitson) Feaster.

Dortha began her life in Claflin, Kansas where she attended Claflin High School, graduating in 1958.

She went on to further her education at Fort Hays State University and in May of 1959, she married Clifford Charles Litzenberger in Claflin, Kansas.

They raised their three children, Robin, Julie, and Dallas, in Great Bend, Kansas.

For the first 20 years of her children’s lives, she dedicated this time to staying home with them. All the while, she was active in the Methodist Church, a member of the League of Women’s voters, PTA president, Girl and Boy Scout Leader, and spent her extra time volunteering with Meals on Wheels.

Donna Cecilia Coe

Nov. 25, 1943~Sept. 3, 2016

Donna Cecilia Coe age 72 of Marble Falls passed away at home Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016.

She was born Nov. 25, 1943, in Blanco to Cecil Kenneth Smith and Sybil Shockley Smith.

Donna graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1962 and the same year was married to Ray Coe.

She was engaged in different endeavors throughout her life; as a beautician, real estate agent, and in various businesses in Marble Falls with her husband.

Donna was a founding member and later assistant director of the Marble Falls Crisis Center and was also involved in the local prison ministry.

Donna very much loved the outdoors and enjoyed activities such as tennis, hunting, and fishing. She enjoyed being involved in the church and community

Donna is survived by her husband Ray; sons and daughters-in-law Lane and Ingrid Coe of Austin and Preston and Anita Coe of Budapest, Hungary.

Barbara Jean Finley

Barbara Jean Finley, 78, of Granite Shoals passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016.

Mrs. Finley was born in Fort Worth on July 26, 1938 to Leonard and Jewel Wilson.

She married Russell M. Finley on Oct. 21, 1966.

Barbara accomplished much in her life.

Her greatest achievements were her children: Lee, Darrell, Tommy, Linda, Cindy and step children Mitchell Dewey and Johnny Dewey.

She worked for the city of Sinton, Texas as the EMS and Transfer Coordinator.

She was Co-founder of the Hoover Valley Fire Department and EMS.

She was a fire fighter, EMS, EMT and a First Responder. She was a member of the VFW and she volunteered at Joseph’s Food Pantry.

Rhonda Kay (Barnhill) Schultz, 52, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 6, 2016. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 pm followed by a memorial service on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 am with Stacy Barnhill officiating. Both will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas.

Carolyn Darwin Voke

Carolyn Darwin Voke, age 90, died Sunday, August 28. 

Family, Faith and Friends were most important to her in life.

She grew up in Anderson, Indiana and  graduated from Anderson High School and attended Butler University where she majored in Music.

She later received her Masters from Purdue and continued classes at Rollins College, FSU and FL Southern.

In 1946 Carolyn married her HS sweetheart, Robert Voke. 

They were married for 61 faithful years. 

They moved to Maitland, Florida in 1958, with their children Mark and Bethany. 

Bob retired from Martin Marrietta after 35 years.

Bob and Carolyn were Charter Members and actively involved at First Baptist Church, Winter Park.

Teaching was large part of her life. 

She taught for over 40 years.

36 of those at Dommerich Elementary School in Maitland, Florida.

Thomas W. Wittie

Tom Wittie was born Dec. 15, 1943 in Floresville and passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 in Temple.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Wittie and Mother, Adaline Luker Wittie.

Tom graduated from Texas A&I in Kingsville with a degree in Music.

After a year as a band director at Poteet High School he began a 37 year career as a conductor with Southern Pacific Railroad.

Tom was also a Mason and served his country in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam.

Tom was passionate about playing the harmonica, woodworking and history.

He also enjoyed helping others in the community as a member of the Kendall Respite program at Fellowship Baptist Church in Marble Falls.

Joan Portis Wyatt

Dec. 18, 1931 ~ Aug. 25, 2016

Joan Portis Wyatt passed from this life to heaven on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016.

Joan was pre-deceased by her parents, Ross and Ermine Portis; her husband, Gordon (Sonny) Wyatt and her sister, Wanda Portis Eisenlohr.

She is survived by son, Michael Gordon Wyatt and wife, Faye; son, Judson Chandler Wyatt and wife, Michele; and five grandchildren, Adam, Chandler, Richard, Rachel and Daniel

Joan was born Dec. 18, 1931 to Ross and Ermine Portis at the family home in Pasadena, Texas at the height of the Great Depression.

At a young age her family moved to Houston in the area now known as Midtown.

She came to know Jesus and was baptized in her early teens at First Baptist Church Houston setting the path and tone for the rest of her life.

She graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1949 and matriculated to Rice Institute where she met her future husband of 57 years, Sonny Wyatt.

Randy Selby left to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016.

He was born Dec. 8, 1980 in Andrews, Texas to William and Sharon (Merkel) Selby.

Randy married Jennifer (Marx) Selby on March 17, 2006.

He was a hardworking and devoted husband, father, brother and son.

Randy is survived by his wife, Jennifer Selby; children, Elizabeth, Hayden, Autumn and Desirea Selby; parents, William and Sharon Selby; sister, Dawn Klinkiewicz, nephew and niece, Brandon and Hannah Klinkiewicz; brother, Robert Selby; niece, Serenity Selby; grandparents, Rufus and Dorothy Pruitt, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins all survive.

He will be greatly missed.

A memorial in honor of Randy will be on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at the Robinson Llano County Park at 3 p.m.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Edgar & Jenkins Family Funeral Home, 109 North Main Street, Burnet.
