Charles Lynn Willis passed from this life at the age of 89 on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

He was born Oct. 13, 1925, to Washington Irving and Alma Mae Willis in Arlington, Texas. Lynn graduated from Arlington High School, and from Texas Tech University, with degrees in Mechanical and Civil Engineering.

Lynn served in World War II as a Navy pilot.

 He married Bettye Ruth Flynt on Sept. 1, 1946.

Lynn started working as an engineer in Arlington, and his first job as an engineer was to help design the bomb bay doors on the B-52 bomber.

Theodore Carl Bruns, 38, passed peacefully in his sleep on June 30, 2015, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Carl was born April, 6, 1977, in Georgetown, Texas. He moved to Rawlings, Wyoming, at a young age and that is where he spent most of his youth. He made Cheyenne his home in 1998.

He is survived by: his father; Tommy Bruns and family of Burnet, Texas; his mother, Patty Wiant of Cheyenne, Wyoming; three sisters, Marcy Martinez and husband, Abel, of England, Ruth Keller and husband, Charles, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Tommi VanRisseghem and husband, Robert, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandparents, T.C. and Stella Bruns of Johnson City, Texas, and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Charles and Ruth Wiant of Saratoga, Wyoming, and an aunt, Alta Bruns Patterson of Blue Ridge, Texas.

Wayne Howard Sims, animal lover, ladies' man, Jim Beam aficionado, Mexican food connoisseur and accomplished xeriscaper, was born in Burnet County, Texas, on Dec. 3, 1940, and passed away at the age of 74 in Bexar County, Texas, on Sunday, July 26, 2015.

Upon graduating from high school in 1957, he soon realized working at the local quarry was not providing the excitement or paycheck he craved.

In 1959, he joined the Navy, earned an appointment to Air Traffic Control School based on his perfect test scores, and was stationed in Adak, Alaska, where he honed his skills.

After the Navy, Wayne returned to his beloved Texas and served as tower chief at every international airport in Texas.

Glenda Janet Tims Harvey, 83, of Granbury,  Texas, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Granbury Villa after a short illness.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Glenda was born on June 18, 1932, in Buffalo Springs, Texas, to Elgin Cecil and Arminta Mae Tims.

She met the love of her life,  Glennis Floyd Harvey, at an early age while she was a seventh grader in White Settlement outside of Fort Worth, where she lived with her family. Glen knew right away she was the one. 

They were married in White Settlement on June 10, 1950, in her parents’ home with her uncle, Bro. James D. Cox, officiating.

Glen and Glenda made their home in White Settlement until the grocery store business moved the family to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1961.

Joyce Verlee Oberhaus, 83, of Marble Falls, formerly of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015, at Silverado Care Facility in Bee Cave, Texas.

Joyce was born May 1, 1932, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Florence Reynolds. She was a graduate of Muscatine High School.

She married Richard Oberhaus on May 1, 1955.

Her favorite pastimes included going to swim meets with her children, cooking, quilting/sewing, being a member of “The Winner’s Circle” Investment Club, playing cards in bridge clubs, including Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and watching “Hawkeye” basketball.

She was a life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church in Muscatine.

Anyone who knew Joyce, knew that she loved her rabbits.

Louis J. “Duke” Weiss Jr., 81, of Kingsland, passed away in his home on Friday, July 10, 2015.

Duke was born on Feb. 26, 1934, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Louis J. Weiss and Julia Mehan Weiss.

He was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He served as an Army Specialist 3(T),was a Rifle Sharpshooter and a recipient of the Good Conduct medal.

He graduated from Western Michigan University then pursued a career in management with Sinclair Oil in Chicago, Illinois.

In 1959, he married Dawn Stone and they were blessed with two children– a daughter, Sonja Haught, now of Ocala, Florida, and a son, John Weiss, now of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

In 1969, the Weiss family moved to the Dominican Republic when Duke accepted a position with Atlantic Richfield Oil Company (ARCO) in the country's capital of Santo Domingo.

Stephen Sylvester , 18 of Spicewood, Texas left this world on Friday July 17, 2015.

Stephen arrived into this world the same way he lived, with as much spunk and glitter as any one person could handle.

He was born in Austin, Texas on Sept. 9, 1996.

He is the son of Andrea Sylvester and stepdad Dennis Levlon Jr. of Spicewood and Stephen and Lana Sylvester of Houston, Texas.

Stephen is survived by his seven sisters, Alexandrea Sylvester and brother-in-law David Blanchard of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, Kolbee' Sylvester, and Naomi Sylvester of Spicewood, Texas, Rebekah and Elizabeth Sylvester of Houston, Julieanna and Addy Thomason of Spicewood, Texas.

Susan Jane Hunt was born on April 4, 1942, in El Paso, Texas. 

She was welcomed into heaven's gates on Monday, July 13, 2015. 

A consummate mother and wife, one of her proudest accomplishments was earning her license as an alcohol and drug abuse counselor.

In this role, she was able to help numerous individuals and families to rebuild their lives.  Helping others and making them feel special gave Susan more joy and satisfaction than just about anything.

Susan is lovingly remembered by: her husband of 53 years, James Hunt Sr.; her two children, James Jr. and Julie; her brother and sister, James Redden and Lynde Leonard, as well as many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

A memorial service in Susan's honor will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015, at

Clements Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 Hwy 281 North, Marble Falls, Texas.

John David Schulte Jr., 58, of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015.

He was born to John David and Jean Kendrick Schulte Sr. on July 24, 1956, in Houston, Texas.

John was an interior decorator for most of his working life.

He enjoyed playing a guitar and loved music.

He was a member of the NRA and was heard many times telling friends and family that “He could sell ice to the Eskimos.”

John is survived by: his wife of 33 years, Julie Schulte of Spicewood; daughters, Sara Diane and Kelli Jean Schulte, both of Marble Falls; grandchildren, Damion, Lexie, Paul Anthony and Lilli; brother, Tom Schulte and sisters, Vicki Schulte and Barbara Reyner.

Private family services will be held.

Cremation arrangement were under the direction of Edgar-Jenkins Family Funeral Home Burnet.

Richard “Rick” Lynn McBride, 64, of Burnet, Texas, passed away on July 6, 2015, under the outstanding care of Hospice Austin Christopher House after a short battle with cancer.

Rick was born Sept. 21, 1950, in Los Angeles, California, to Fred Benjamin and Annie Grace McBride.

He grew up in Anahuac, Texas, moved to Clovis, New Mexico, for several years, and then settled down in the Hill Country.

Rick was a loyal and dedicated foreman for Marl Delz Paint Company in Kingsland, Texas, for over 26 years. He loved his job, as well as camping, football, playing the lottery and his two grandsons more than anything.

Rick was preceded in death by: both his parents; his wife, Barbara of Rockdale; his brother, Gregory Lee McBride of Marble Falls; and brother-in-Law, Vic Butler.
