Lisa Ellen Hearn

Lisa Ellen Hearn, 24, of Austin, Texas, passed away in her home Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Lisa was born on Jan. 8, 1991, in Lubbock, Texas.

Her parents are Larry Hearn, formerly of Cleburne ,and Sue Ellen Williams Hearn, formerly of Corpus Christi, both now in Austin, Texas.

She grew up in Arlington, Texas, and Cairo, Egypt, before returning to the United States to finish middle school and high school in Marble Falls, Texas.

Lisa graduated from Marble Falls High School and Capitol City Careers, where she was trained as a certified paralegal.

She was a current member of First Unitarian Universalist Church in Austin, where she sang in the choir.

Lisa loved to read, watch scary movies and hang out with her family and friends.

Windy Nicole Wood

Windy Nicole Wood, 32, of College Station, Texas, passed away in her home on Monday June 15, 2015. 

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1982.

As a military dependent, she lived in several locations stateside, and overseas, prior to moving to her family’s ranch in Spicewood in 1990. 

She graduated from Marble Falls High School in 2001 and graduated from Texas A&M University in the Class of 2005. 

She married Jason Wayne Caswell in 2008. 

She had a passion for animals and photography, was a talented artist and an avid reader. 

She was a beautiful soul that will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by: her husband, Jason Caswell; her loving parents– father, Colonel (Ret.) Gail Wood, and mother, Patricia Wood, of Marble Falls;  her sisters,  Amber Wood of Galveston and Judi Duvall of Houston, and her niece, Skylar Duvall.

Robert Charles Gentry

Dec. 24, 1920~June 3, 2015

Robert Charles “Bob” Gentry, 94, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in Kingsland.

He was born Dec. 24, 1920, to J.D. and Irene (Powell) Gentry.

He attended The University of Texas and competed as a member of the UT swim team.

Bob qualified and would have participated in the 1944 Olympic Games in London, England, but World War II caused the Olympics to be cancelled.

After a 45-year career with Shell Oil Company, Bob and his wife, Betty, retired to Lake LBJ near Marble Falls.

He was an active participant in the Granite Shoals Fraternal Order of Eagles, a charitable organization that serves the local community.

Bob spent the rest of his life in the service of family, friends and community.

Charles C. Duncan

March 15, 1931~June 13, 2015

Charles C. Duncan of Johnson City passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Knopp Nursing Home in Fredericksburg, Texas, where he was admitted as a patient the day before on June 12, 2015. 

Charles was born March 15, 1931, in Delaware, County, Oklahoma, to Claude Duncan and Mable Smith Duncan. 

Preceding him in death were his father, mother and two sisters, Retha Long and Janice Brady.

Charles spent his younger years in Oklahoma, then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, within which he served for 20 years. 

He was stationed in Korea during wartime in 1953, several other foreign countries and, in 1969, he spent a year in Viet Nam during wartime. 

Returning to the United States in 1970, he served the rest of his enlistment in Klamath Falls, Oregon. 

In June of 1972 he married Alyce and moved to Texas later that year.

Doye L. Fannin

Aug. 21, 1924~June 10, 2015

Doye L. Fannin, 90, a native Texas and resident of Marble Falls since June 2007, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Legend Oaks/Granite Mesa Health Center in Marble Falls.

Born Aug. 21, 1924, in Mullin, Texas, she was the oldest of four children of the late Lee P. and Ruby P. Burkett.

She graduated from high school in Brownwood, Texas, in 1941 and, in 1942, she met her husband, Robert Fannin, to whom she has been married for 72 years.

She was a Christian and a member of the Robertson Avenue Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, Texas.

In addition to being a wife and the mother of three children, she began a mid-life career with the American National Red Cross, Service to Military Installations. During her career she served at multiple military bases in the United States and overseas in South Korea and Germany.

Myrl Dianne Robinson

July 18, 1940~June 13, 2015

Myrl Dianne Raines was born on July 18, 1940, in Stamford, Texas, to Faye Jobe and Budley Raines. She passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015.

A younger sister by 11 years, Myrl was practically an only child who inherited all of the audacity of her mother who was known to travel the world alone.

Myrl married her high school sweetheart, Mike Robinson, at 19 years old and was initiated into the ranching way of life in Archer City, Texas.

By age 20, Myrl was mother to eldest daughter Polly and again at 23 to Mika.

Although Myrl was a reputable cook, she is most known for her homemade bread that she made weekly for her grandchildren, church members, coworkers and the cable repairman who enabled Myrl to tune into whatever sporting event was on television.

Robert Terry Neal

Robert Terry Neal of Spicewood,  passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the age of 72.

He was born and raised in Pe Ell, Washington, and obtained a degree in aeronautics and astronautics from the University of Washington in 1965. 

He worked for NASA where he held various mission operations positions, including: flight lead, project lead and management at the section, branch and division levels for all manned programs from Apollo 7 through mid-2005. 

From 1969 through 1972, he was assigned to temporary duty at the then Kennedy Space Center supporting Apollo Missions 11-17 in the areas of flight crew integration, vehicle and crew equipment test and checkout and astronaut training.

His specific areas of operational expertise included Apollo, Shuttle, and space station EVA (spacewalk) systems, the flight crew equipment in those programs (including the lunar module IVA and EVA equipment) and lunar surface operations.

Phyllis Fay Huisenga

Phyllis Faye Huisenga, 89, of Marble Falls died Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

She was born to Jake and Fae Janssen on Aug. 1, 1925, in Lake City, Iowa.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at CookWalden Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.

She was self-employed for 30 years. She was also a front desk manager at the Inn on Lake Travis for 25 years.

She belonged to the Disabled American Veterans, was Commander for two years and belonged to the EX POW.

She volunteered at Temple VA hospital for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Jake and Fae Janssen; two sons, Danny Huisenga and Donald Huisenga, Jr.; one great-grandson, Jerry Lee Molene; three sisters, Elva Batz, Lavon Anderson and Evelyn Twogood, and, a brother, Harold Janssen.

Patrick Allen Walsh

July 23, 1970~May 26, 2015

Patrick Allen Walsh, 44, of Meadowlakes, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Seton Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas.

Patrick was born July 23, 1970, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Billy Allen Walsh and Ruth Elaine Janssen Walsh.

Patrick met his wife, Kelly Ortiz Walsh, and they were married on Feb. 20, 1994, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Patrick began his hospitality career at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he continued to grow and find success in the hotel hospitality industry. 

As he continued success, he was brought to Horseshoe Bay Resort to lead the events and banquets team on a journey of success.

Patrick was preceded in death by: his father, Bill Walsh; grandparents, Walter and Viola Janssen and Robert and Sylvia Walsh; an uncle, Lonnie Patterson, and cousins, Randy and Benjamin Patterson.

H. Dale Tucker

May 30, 1927~May 27, 2015

H. Dale Tucker – Enough said!
H. Dale Tucker of Marble Falls died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, three days before his 88th birthday.

He was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 30, 1927, to Rufus Tucker and Sylvia Shillings Tucker. 
A 1945 graduate of Burnet High School, Dale then entered U.S. Army Basic Training in Ft. Roberts, California, and then traveled to Vienna, Austria, as a payroll clerk in the Army of Occupation.

While in the Army, Dale had earned college credits at New Mexico A&M and Texas Tech Universities. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1950 earning a degree in electrical engineering.
Dale met Vashti Smith of Marble Falls in 1947. They married in the Marble Falls First Methodist Church on Sept. 10, 1949, and completed their degrees after they married.
