The Marble Falls Lady Mustangs just had to make it interesting.

Senior Aspen Woerner scored on an inside shot with 1:15 left for the key two points in the team’s 45-39 victory over Seguin Tuesday before a near fullhouse at Max Copeland Gym.

The victory helps solidify second place for the moment for the Lady Mustangs, who are 22-9 overall and 10-2 in District 26-5A. Seguin, which has key games with Tivy and Boerne Champion left, and Dripping Springs, have clinched playoff berths.

In all likelihood Tivy will win the district, Marble Falls earns second and Seguin and Dripping Sprigs will claim the final two spots from the district.

Marble Falls is on the road at Lockhart Friday and a win secures at least second.

To earn the top spot, Marble Falls must beat Lockart and Dripping Springs and have Tivy lose twice.

Tivy has Seguin and Lockhart left on its schedule.
