Marble Falls went 2-3 in the Marble Falls Subway Classic and displayed some up-and-down basketball.
The highlight of the tournament was back-to-back wins over San Antonio Edison and Austin McCallum.
The Mustangs showed they can compete when they get good play both inside and outside.
Sophomore Andrew Stripling had huge games against SA Edison and McCallum. The post player scored 48 points and grabbed at least 20 rebounds in the two Friday games.
The Mustangs were erratic in three of the five games, relying heavily on the outside shot.
But the worst news out of the weekend, was losing junior wing Keegan Deering to an ankle injury. Deering twisted his left ankle with 2:18 left in the game against San Antonio Edison. He torn some ligaments and is expected to miss five weeks of action, he said.
