Burnet won the battle of Burnet County Friday night with a 33-12 victory over rival Marble Falls at Bulldog Field.

Burnet senior quarterback Koby Edwards threw for three touchdowns, all in the first half, and Burnet played field position football to take command in the game.

Burnet (2-0) scored all four of its touchdowns on short drives, two set up by Mustang fumbles.

Burnet capitalized on field position and made some breaks. The Bulldogs went up 9-0 midway through the first quarter when Edwards fired a pass to the end zone on third and seven from the 22. Senior Steven Gallardo snared the deflected football in the end zone to complete a 5-play 43-yard drive.

Marble Falls (1-1) had three players surrounding Gallardo on the play, but senior Weston Schultz tipped the ball and Gallardo swallowed up the pass.
