Llano County deputies nab drug dealing suspect

Llano County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant July 10 at 855 Wood Forrest, Kingsland, Llano County.

Around 7 p.m. deputies seized approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, firearms and paraphernalia at the residence.

Two deaths in separate accidents on Lake LBJ

One of two reported fatalities in three days on Lake LBJ occurred near a congested area of the waterway, just off FM 1431 in Kingsland. On July 11 a woman's body was found floating in the vicinity of a personal watercraft authorities believe may have been involved in an accident. On July 14, game warden recovered the body of a Sarita man a few miles upstream from that area in the Legends subdivision.

Texas Parks and Wildlife officials recovered two bodies in three days and unveiled the possible cause of death in the unrelated boating incidents over the weekend along the Colorado River on Lake LBJ.

Texas Parks and Wildlife investigators are waiting for the autopsy results of a woman found unresponsive July 11 on Lake LBJ in Kingsland. Authorities believe the death may be related to a jet ski accident, according to a press release.

Community celebrates new Kingsland Bridge

Several hundred residents, officials and dignitaries showed their support for the expedited completion of the Kingsland Ranch-to-Market 2900 Bridge during a ceremony May 24 which featured live music, ceremonial walks across the span and presentations.

Community to celebrate Kingsland bridge wrap up

TXDoT is hosting a ceremonial grand opening of the RM 2900 Bridge at 2 p.m. May 24 in Kingsland. The structure, which was washed away during the October flood, will soon be open to vehicle traffic following a fast-tracked schedule for completion.

As crews poured the final concrete slab section May 15, officials announced the new Kingsland RM 2900 Bridge will meet a deadline for completion to accommodate an upcoming public grand opening ceremony for the structure, officials said.

DPS identifies victims in Kingsland plane crash

UPDATE: The victims of the plane crash were identified as William Lee Glenn, 69, and John Timothy Sharp, 66, both of Kingsland, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. They were pronounced dead at the scene by Llano County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Maureen Riggs.

Two people died Easter Sunday, April 21 after an experimental aircraft crashed at an airstrip in Kingsland, near the Legends Golf Course, officials reported. Witnesses believe high winds may have played a factor.

Kayaker treks Colorado River, Highland Lakes on Gulf excursion

Ethan West, at just 22 years old, embarked recently on a kayaking adventure from near the headwaters of the Llano River to the Gulf Coast. The Highlander caught up to him April 10 at the LBJ Yacht Club and Marina on Lake LBJ as he started to make a transition onto Lake Marble Falls.

Members of entities which provide resources offered the latest figures, programs and efforts to protect children.
