The Marble Falls Rodeo returns for its 63rd year this weekend at Charley Taylor Arena, 3053 S. US 281.

The Marble Falls Rodeo returns this weekend July 19 and 20 at Charley Taylor Arena, just south of Marble Falls on US 281.

This year's rodeo – the 63rd iteration of the annual event – will feature several competitions, including the return of the rodeo queen.

Two deaths in separate accidents on Lake LBJ

One of two reported fatalities in three days on Lake LBJ occurred near a congested area of the waterway, just off FM 1431 in Kingsland. On July 11 a woman's body was found floating in the vicinity of a personal watercraft authorities believe may have been involved in an accident. On July 14, game warden recovered the body of a Sarita man a few miles upstream from that area in the Legends subdivision.

Texas Parks and Wildlife officials recovered two bodies in three days and unveiled the possible cause of death in the unrelated boating incidents over the weekend along the Colorado River on Lake LBJ.

Pursuit crash blocks Hwy 281 traffic in Marble Falls

A collision occured around 4:30 p.m. June 27  on U.S. 281 at the intersection of Fairland Road (FM 1855) in Marble Falls. The crash, involving an 18-wheeler and a passenger car, occured while authorities were in pursuit of a passenger vehicle which posted speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. A vehicle occupant was transported by Air Evac to an Austin area hospital.

Marble Falls ISD moves to advance projects in $55 million bond issue
