Flood prompts proposed Marble Falls water rate hike

City officials have proposed an 8 percent increase in the water and wastewater rates for residents due to a decrease in post flood water usage connected to aftermath restrictions as well as a reduction in water use tied to smart meters.

Authorities net auto theft spree suspect, merchandise

A new sidewalk began to take shape July 25 in the south end of Johnson Park in Marble Falls. The work is adjacent to a new restroom facility at the venue. When completed, the sidewalk will farther extend the hiking and biking trail system which connects to Westside Park.

Workers deposited sand July 18 for the manmade beach area in Lakeside Park. Marble Falls City Council approved about $210,000 during the regular council meeting the evening prior for the private contractor to install an irrigation system and landscaping at the venue.

As crews tackled the finishing touches on the phase 1A portion of parks improvements, Marble Falls city officials approved over $212,000 on July 16 for the private contractor on site to install the landscaping and irrigation system at Lakeside Park.
