Burnet County commissioners on Tuesday, July 23, tabled until Aug. 13 a proposal to extend the hours mixed beverages can be sold in unincorporated areas of the county — the second time in less than two years the topic has been brought up before the court.

Granite Shoals debates $17,000 on speed radars

Granite Shoals Police have been using a mobile radar trailer to encourage drivers to slow down and drive the speed limit on roads within the city limits. Police Chief Gary Boshears said the radar has received positive feedback from residents.

Llano County deputies nab drug dealing suspect

Llano County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant July 10 at 855 Wood Forrest, Kingsland, Llano County.

Around 7 p.m. deputies seized approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, firearms and paraphernalia at the residence.

Workers deposited sand July 18 for the manmade beach area in Lakeside Park. Marble Falls City Council approved about $210,000 during the regular council meeting the evening prior for the private contractor to install an irrigation system and landscaping at the venue.
