William Brett Brackett, 50, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, in McKinney, Texas, after an eight-year struggle with ALS.

He was the son of William A. Brackett and Dolores Brackett Whitman. He graduated from Midland High School in 1984. He attended Southwest Texas State University and subsequently received his engineering degree at Texas A&I University, now Texas A&M, in Kingsville, Texas.

Lloyd George Guthrie, born on May 22, 1921, to Sally Sanders and George Jefferson Guthrie in Rockdale, passed away on Tuesday Feb. 7.

He survived the passing of two brothers; James and Theodore Guthrie.

Lloyd was a petty officer in the Navy, trained in airplane engineering.

Euda Tucker Raley, 104, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 6, while sleeping in her home.

Euda left her mark on the temporal earthly plane as a daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- grandmother and friend to many.

Over 104 years and 11 months of life, she saw many changes from riding in covered wagons to trains, automobiles and airplanes, and endured significant historical moments like World War II, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl and 18 different Presidents.

Born March 29, 1912 in Loco, Oklahoma and raised in Duncan, she met and married Frank Raley on June 10, 1934.

They lived in Oklahoma, Canada and San Francisco before settling in Kermit to raise their family.

They formed special bonds and built lifelong relationships with many in the booming oil community.

Magdelena (affectionately called Maggie) was the beloved daughter of Lolo and Antonia Ramirez, both deceased.

She was born in Austin on Dec. 29, 1948.

Maggie passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, after a long battle with Scleroderma.

Maggie was a beautiful lady that loved her husband, children and family.

Dr. James Fred Graham

Dr. James Fred Graham, 73, of Marble Falls, passed away on Saturday Feb. 4, in his hometown while doing something he loved, attending a concert and sharing his love of music with family.

Dr. Fred Graham was born in San Francisco, California to James Fred Graham and Virginia Graham on July 7, 1943.

He grew up and attended school in the South Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas and was a graduate of Sunset High School.

He graduated from Texas A&M in 1965, where he was a member of the ROTC, and he attended dental school at the University of Texas – Houston.

He served in the Army as a dentist and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in South Korea, and at Fort Hood.

He married Paulette Walch, a fellow Texan, on Aug. 27, 1971 in Seoul, Korea.

He worked as a dentist in his own practice in Marble Falls for 45 years.

Dortha (Dot) Kanewske entered this world on April 22, 1921 in rural northeast Texas, just outside of Commerce.

She attended high schools in Dallas and Commerce, ultimately graduating from Commerce High.

Finishing high school was not enough, Dortha pursued a college education and graduated from East Texas State Teachers College in 1941.

Upon graduation, she briefly taught first, second and third grades at a rural school in Quinlan.

Samuel Algie (Sam) Martin died on Thursday, Jan. 12.

Sam was born on Aug. 10, 1953 in New Rochelle, NY, and was the son of David M. and Patsy Ann Martin.

Sam grew up in Valhalla, NY, graduated from Westlake High School in Thornwood, NY, and attended Windham College in Putney, VT.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, where he specialized in electronics.

After completing his military service, Sam settled in Houston.

Bessie Cleo Blitch, age 95 of Dayton, formerly of Marble Falls, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Veranda in Dayton.

She was born December 25, 1921 in Houston, to the late Asa Ray and Cleo Stewart Scott.

She is also preceded in death by her husband; Harold Eugene Blitch, as well as her son; Michael Blitch; her great-granddaughter Alisa Impson and her two brothers Ray Scott and Hugh Scott.

Bess grew up and spent most of her life in Texas as a homemaker.

Randall Collins Hallmark, 91, of Kingsland passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31.

He was born to David Hallmark and Alice Davis on March 29, 1925 in Bluffton.

Mr. Hallmark proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

He married Dorothy Crooks Jan. 20, 1948 in Bluffton.

He was a construction contractor by trade.

He was an Elder of the Buchanan Dam Church of Christ.

In his spare time, he enjoyed working his cows, buying, trading, and bartering, and absolutely loved the “Thrill of the Deal.”

He is survived by his wife; Dorothy Hallmark of Kingsland; son Lanny Hallmark of Kingsland; son Greg Hallmark of Kingsland; grandchildren Brice Hallmark, Danielle Senske and AmyJo Hallmark; four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family also survive.
